Odoo integration, first draft for currencies and countries

Hi!

I am working on an Odoo integration for NGU Taler, and I have the payment system working.
But I am encountering a question that I cannot find an updated answer or precise documentation about.

Within my add-on, I can give access to specific compatible countries and currencies. What countries and currencies should I give access to, as a first draft, as of December 2025?

I am thinking of two possibilities

  • Giving access to only CHF and switzerland as a country
  • Giving access to EUR and CHF, and for countries, switzerland + most countries in Europe?

What would be the best way to proceed with this, or who should I reach out to on this topic?

If you want to collect real money now, then CHF. The swiss exchange of Taler Operations AG is already in operation - we expect the first exchange for EURO to start in spring 2026.

I do not necessarily want to collect real money right now, I think the first exchange in euro will happen before the 1.0 release of my add-on!

So I will add EUR and CHF, and will reach out to Clemens for specific country information, thank you!
