OpenStreetMap for physical shops

Hello,
not sure where is the right category for that on this forum,

How would it be to propose OpenStreetMap to map and to register physical shops proposing Taler as payment method? I guess they are very few currently but there is at least 1 in Swiss and it could help to find theses shops in the coming months.

Yes, that’s totally the plan: We already have https://map.taler-ops.ch/ (buywith.git) and the exchange has the “SHOPPTING_URL” feature which (for CHF) links to that map. What is missing is support in the Wallet GUIs to expose the link from the action menu.

Could this be a worthy proposal for TALER Integrations? Then it could go through the Open Calls.

@mabi I created @i.osm and TALER Integrations > OpenStreetMap for you. Feel free to develop your ideas there.

I meant that you could make a proposal to obtain a grant through TALER open calls to fund your effort.

you may want to check 18.81. DD 81: Shop Discovery — GNU Taler

What it could be interesting is the proposal is about bringing a integrated solution with the walelt so the user can download information from the payment service provider (aka the exchange) for which the shop did the KYC/KYB process and use that information to navigate an offline map.

That could be a future verison of our planned maps
